A Couple Things That I will Have an Eye On in Spring Training
Spring training is here! Exhibition games are on the horizon and will begin this Friday. The Rangers open their Spring Training exhibition games against the Kansas City Royals, whom they share the facility with. With those games kicking off soon, here are some things I'm going to watch and keep in mind during these games. The team's overall approach at the plate: It’s no secret the Rangers’ approach at the plate will change after what we watched last year, especially under a new manager and wi
Cal Quantrill and Nick Pratto Join the Rangers On MiLB Deals
At approximately 7:52 p.m., Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reported that the Rangers agreed to a minor league deal with veteran right-handed pitcher Cal Quantrill with an invite to spring training. Later that night, Chris Cotillo, who is a beat writer for the Boston Red Sox, reported that the Rangers were also expected to add former Royals 2017 first-round pick Nick Pratto. Quantrill spent the end of last season in the Rangers organization in AAA. He tossed 11 innings and posted a 1.64 E
The Rangers Land MacKenzie Gore in a Blockbuster Trade: My Thoughts
Around 2:10 pm I was taking a quiz for one of my college classes. During this quiz, I heard my phone start to get spammed with notifications. Normally that means one of two things for me, one a big signing or trade just happened around the league, or two the Rangers just made a big move. After I completed my quiz I look to see what happened and I see that Jon Heyman reported that MacKenzie Gore has been traded to the Rangers. I was in absolute shock to see this news. Here is the trade summary:
The Rangers Ink a One-Year Deal with Jakob Junis
At 4 p.m. Sunday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reported that right-handed pitcher Jakob Junis agreed to a one-year, $4 million deal with the Texas Rangers. Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News later confirmed that the contract includes a mutual option for 2027. This is a very solid signing for the Rangers with their current budget restrictions. Jakob Junis, a former starting pitcher, has transitioned effectively to the bullpen. In 2025 with the Cleveland Guardians, he posted a 2.97 ERA a
Some Bullpen Arms I would Like The Rangers to Consider
The Rangers do not have a big budget to spend on the bullpen for 2026. Last winter, in 2024, the Rangers didn't spend much at all on the bullpen. In fact, they spent around 10 million on it, and the bullpen was good except for one weakness, the closer. The Rangers had a closer by committee last year and it was a little rough to watch at times. With that being said, there are still some solid arms out there to round out the 2026 Rangers bullpen. Here are some arms I would like the Rangers to cons
2025 Bowman Draft Rangers Checklist
A group of the Rangers top prospects appear in the checklist for 2025 Bowman Draft that releases in January. From base cards, to inserts, autograph cards, and chrome cards the Rangers have a little variety in the set. For base cards, Gavin Fien, AJ Russell, Yolfran Castillo, Mason McConnaughey, Josh Owens, Sebastian Walcott, and Malcolm Moore all have cards. Base cards are normally the cheapest of the set and are kind of "filler" cards. For the Chrome base, all of the same players that had bas
The Rangers re-sign Veteran Chris Martin
At 5PM Tuesday night Jeff Passan reported that the Rangers were in agreement with Chris Martin on a one year contract. Martin posted a 2.98 ERA over 49 appearances in 2025. In the first half of the season he posted a 2.20 ERA and a 5.59 ERA in 9.2 innings in the second half that was riddled with injuries. Martin had a good year for the Rangers, and was their set up man in the 8th inning where he had an ERA of 3.16 in 25.2 innings, and in he throw a total of 9 innings in the 9th innings where he
The Rangers Make a Flurry of Moves Friday Night
At 8:22 Friday night Robert Murray of Fansided reported that the Rangers signed free-agent catcher Danny Jansen to a two-year, 14.5 million dollar contract that includes bonuses to get it to 15.5 million. Fifteen minutes later Jeff Passan of ESPN reported that the Rangers signed Alexis Diaz and Tyler Alexander to one-year contracts in addition to the Danny Jansen signing. Let's go over these moves and my thoughts on them. Danny Jansen- There was no question that the Rangers were going to acqui
The Rangers Cut Loose Three World Series Heroes
As the 2025 non-tender deadline approached on November 21st at 4P.M. central time, the Rangers had some choices to make with some key players. The two main candidates being ALCS MVP and basically playoff hero Adolis García, and the 2023 starting catcher for the All-star game Jonah Heim. The Rangers ended up not tendering contracts to four players. Those being Adolis García, Jonah Heim, Josh Sborz, and Jacob Webb. The Rangers reportedly attempted to trade García and Heim before the deadline on Fr
