FRISCO, Texas — In a televised announcement Oct. 9, the Savannah Bananas revealed its two new teams: the Loco Beach Coconuts and the Indianapolis Clowns.

The news brings good news for Banana Ball fans in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. 2026 will bring multiple chances to see Banana Ball in person.

Mark Crocco will be the Coconuts’ coach. Shane Victorino, a former MLB World Series champion, will also hold the new role of primetime coach.

The Indianapolis Clowns will be coached by Errick Fox. Former World Series champion Ryan Howard will be the team’s primetime coach.

The Clowns get their name from a former team from the Negro Leagues, a league of all-Black baseball players in the 1920s.

They will play their games at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama, which is the oldest existing professional baseball stadium in the country, according to Wikipedia.

Banana Ball returns to Frisco in 2026

Banana Ball returns to Riders Field March 7-8 and this time will feature a new team that was just announced — the Loco Beach Coconuts — against the Texas Tailgaters.
Banana Ball is something that you have to see in person to truly appreciate. I was lucky enough to be able to cover it during their first visit when 10,000 fans showed up for each game.

Banana Ball will take over Arlington

The Texas Tailgaters will bring the party to Globe Life Field when they face the Savannah Bananas in a three-game series from Sept. 25-27, 2026.

The Banana Ball Championship League

The Banana Ball Championship League will begin with a preseason called the Banana Ball Open running from Feb. 26 to April 12, 2026. The regular season will span 50 games from April to September.

The top three teams will compete against the winner of the Banana Ball Open to see who moves on to the first-ever Banana Bowl on Oct. 10, 2026, according to a press release.
