Each team will play a 68-game schedule, split between 34 home games at their own stadium and 34 away games.
Experience Guides the New League
The Shadowcats are in good hands. The team is owned by Tim Woodland and his company, Sherman Sports & Entertainment. The league itself boasts a pedigree of experience, formed by a collaborative effort between National Sports Services and Ventura Sports Group. These two organizations bring over 100 years of combined expertise in building and operating baseball teams. That's a century of baseball wisdom backing the Shadowcats!
Six teams in the Mid America League
Here's a rundown of your soon-to-be favorite competitors:
- Abilene (TX) Flying Bison

Veterans Field Gets a Makeover
The Shadowcats will call Veterans Field home for the next three seasons, while a brand new stadium is slated for completion by 2027. Don't worry, though, Veterans Field is getting a spruce-up! Renovations are underway, including new stands, new scoreboard and a beer garden fashioned from the old batting cages (because what's baseball without a cold drink?). With seating for around 1,200 fans, Veterans Field is sure to be packed with roaring supporters.
Leading the Shadowcats' charge is President Troy Sample and Head Coach Shawn Counts. With this dynamic duo at the helm, the Shadowcats are poised to be a force to be reckoned with.
Players
The Shadowcats' roster is being built and each roster will be made up of up to 40- players. Expect to see players from NCAA Division I, II, and III, NAIA, and junior colleges, all hungry to prove themselves on the professional stage.
Plus, some players who have finished college ball but want to keep their skills sharp will also be joining the team.
Here's the best part – these players will have the opportunity to earn an income through a League-wide Name, Image, and Likeness program.
Players will stay with host families
On top of that, they'll be staying with local host families, giving them a chance to experience the heart of Sherman and become part of the community.
Merchandise
You can support the by purchasing a shirt, cap or hoodie on their website.
Box Suites in right field
Will feature TVs inside showing other sports games, like Texas Rangers games while the Shadowcats are playing. There will also be a refrigerator with drinks.
You can also take a ladder up to the top of the field suites to watch the game from there. There's plenty to be excited about.
Promotions
It sounds like there will be promotions like Thirsty Thursdays which will include soft drinks. Firework Fridays and there will also be some games with a post-game concert. More will.be announced later and we'll update at that time.
