Comets Sweep Eastern New Mexico to Stay Perfect at Home

Behind a dominant Seth Taylor start and a gritty relief appearance by Christian Robb, UT Dallas swept Eastern New Mexico to move to 10-4 on the season.

RICHARDSON, Texas — The University of Texas at Dallas Comets completed a four-game series sweep against Eastern New Mexico this last weekend, to stay undefeated at UTD Baseball Field.

Taylor Dominates the Finale

Junior starter Seth Taylor delivered a command performance Sunday afternoon to anchor the Comets' 3-2 victory. Taylor tossed 6.2 innings, surrendering just one run on four hits and two walks while striking out eight.

Through 108 pitches, Taylor’s only blemish was a solo home run allowed to Jake Willerup in the top of the second inning. The Comets' lineup responded in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game, eventually providing enough run support to secure the win.

Bullpen Slams the Door

Christian Robb entered from the pen to navigate the final 2.1 innings. Robb allowed one run on two hits and one walk, recording two strikeouts over 35 pitches to earn his first save of the season.

Under the guidance of pitching coach Derek Holland, the UTD staff continues to show poise in high-leverage situations. The Comets now sit at 10-4 overall in head coach Travis Graves' debut season.

Gritty Performance at the Plate

While the Comets' offense was held to seven hits and four walks, the lineup showcased the relentless approach that has defined their early-season success.

Korson Hastings: The first baseman recorded the team's only extra-base hit of the game.

Kole Kinnison: The third baseman went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Alex Miller: The designated hitter finished 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Trent McCown & Nico Fernandez: Both the right fielder and catcher added base hits to the total.
