Fresh off celebrating their combined no-hitter from the previous night and playing a late-morning game, the Hickory Crawdads continued their strong pitching, improving to 4-1 with a victory over the Augusta GreenJackets at L.P. Frans Stadium.

Starting pitcher Brooks Fowler delivered 4 strong innings, allowing 0 hits, 1 walk, and recording 5 strikeouts.

Brock Porter Maintains the Shutout

Brock Porter replaced Fowler, pitching 1.2 innings, allowing 2 walks and recording 1 strikeout. In his 2 appearances this season, Porter has thrown 2.2 innings with no hits, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts.

Alberto Mota Faces Challenges

Alberto Mota came in next but struggled, pitching 2/3 of an inning, allowing 0 hits but giving up 2 runs, 3 walks, and recording 1 strikeout.

Eric Loomis Limits the Damage

Eric Loomis entered with the bases loaded and allowed the first hit of the game on an 8-pitch at-bat, but he minimized further damage.

Maxton Martin Leads the Way

The Crawdads continued to be led by 19-year-old Maxton Martin, who went 3-for-5 with a double—his third of the season—and 1 RBI, bringing his season total to 9 RBIs. Martin is hitting .391 with a .400 on-base percentage, .652 slugging percentage, and 1.052 OPS.

Eighteen-year-old Pablo Guerrero went 1-for-4 with 1 RBI, increasing his season total to 3, while batting .333. Nineteen-year-old Luis Marquez went 2-for-2, scoring 2 runs and adding his second stolen base of the season.
