Forgive me for being late in reporting this but right-handed reliever *DeMarcus Evans* and left-handed starter *Kolby Allard* will be making noise, not music, in Nashville. The Texas Rangers also assigned more [players](https://theprospecttimes.com/sherten-apostel-and-leody-taveras-have-been-assigned-to-frisco/) to Double-A Frisco yesterday.

DeMarcus Evans will be in Arlington at some point this season. Honestly, I was thinking that he may get a bullpen spot out of spring training but this move doesn't really surprise me. Evans has options available and has not thrown from the mound above Double-A, excluding Spring Training.

Last year, Evans wowed fans in Down East and Frisco. In Down East he had a 4-0 record with an outstanding 0.81 earned run average in 22.1 innings pitched. After proving that he could handle High-A line-ups, he promoted to Frisco. In Frisco he pitched 37.2 innings and had a 2-0 record with a 0.96 earned run average.

> Between the two leagues he struck out 100 of the 235 batters that he faced.

Left-handed starting pitcher [Kolby Allard](https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/rangers/2019/08/09/5-things-to-know-about-new-rangers-pitching-prospect-kolby-allard-including-why-he-slid-in-the-2015-mlb-draft/?ref=theprospecttimes.com) was also assigned to Triple-A. The Texas Rangers traded reliever Chris Martin to the Atlanta Braves for Kolby Allard. As effective as Chris Martin was out of the pen the Rangers had to make this trade. Allard is just 22 years old and made 9 starts last year for the Rangers. He ended with a 4-2 record and a 4.96 earned run average in 45.1 innings. He walked 19 and struck out 33 and had a 1.566 WHIP. With the additions to the pitching staff this winter, the Rangers can afford to send Allard to Triple-A for more seasoning. He will be just a phone call away from Arlington.
