Evan Carter rising to top form

After a rough start to the 2025 season in Triple-A Round Rock, Evan Carter has found his stride and is regaining confidence in himself, his back, and his swing.

Carter started off his first 7 games by going just 2 for 25 with only 1 RBI and had yet to record a single XBH. Things seemed to be a little bleak for the rehabbing lefty who had been looking to recapture the essence of what he accomplished in the playoffs in 2023. However, for Carter to accomplish that he needed to learn to trust his swing and his back again which led to his big break when he took over for an injured Adolis Garcia..

Thankfully for Carter and the Rangers as of late the lefty seems to have found his rhythm and is once again hitting well to go along with his keen eye and plate awareness. Over his last 10 games Carter is 12 for 43 for a .279 Avg in which he has a HR, 5 RBI, and 3SB.

However, during this period Carter’s Achilles heel is once again facing Lefties. He’s 1 for 14 vs Lefties this season but his struggle vs them is nothing new. The Rangers would be elated if Carter could get a little more consistent in putting up great AB’s vs Lefties but they’ve always known that isn’t his strong suit and I’m sure won’t hold it against the 22 year old when evaluating his readiness to return to Arlington.

It is still unknown when the Rangers will pull the trigger and call up Carter back to the big leagues but with the Rangers offensive struggles to continue it seems to be only a matter of time. Could be a couple more series or weeks but if the struggle continues it seems only right to assume Carter will see his name on the lineup card on Arlington sooner rather than later.

When healthy Carter is a perfect fit for any lineup. He’s got a keen eye which was heavily shown in the playoffs where he continued game after game to get into full counts, take great pitches, and get on whenever the Rangers needed him most. Along with that he also set an MLB record for most doubles in a postseason showcasing his gap to gap abilities and even his wheels from time to time. To see such a dynamic player like Evan Carter struggle to get back on top of the back injuries which plagued him last year had been rough and the Ranger faithful are hoping he can be the star which we saw glimpses of in that fateful playoff run.

It seems inevitable that Carter will be back up before we know it, it’s simply just a matter of time now.
