The Texas Rangers have one of the better farm systems in baseball and it is starting to show. The Frisco RoughRiders feature quite a few of the top prospects on the farm and they needed to win one of their last three games to secure a spot spot in the Texas League playoffs.

The RoughRiders are going to the post-season for first time since 2014

They won 11-6 over the Northwest Arkansas Naturals and now they are headed to the playoffs for the 1st time since 2014 when they finished with an 80-59 record.

This season the RoughRiders have had one of the strongest line-ups all season and the pitching to match, though they didn’t necessarily come together in the same game at times.

In the second half of the season they’ve had a run differential of +79 which easily tops the other teams in the South Division of the Texas League.

Mason Englert, Evan Carter and Thomas Saggese have all recently been promoted and they all had a hand in this win to clinch the post-season spot.

No matter the outcome of their last two games, the RoughRiders have the best record in the Texas League South for the season at 73-62. Their record in the 2nd half is 37-29.

The Frisco RoughRiders will host the Division series game on Tuesday, September 20th and tickets are on sale now.

Congratulations to the Frisco RoughRiders!
