Saddle up, baseball fans, because a brand new league is riding into town, and it’s bringing some serious heat! The Mid America League (MAL) is here, and leading the charge in Fort Smith, Arkansas, are the aptly named Fort Smith Marshals – ready to trade in their badges for bats!
Crowder Field or Riverfront Dreams?
For now, the Marshals will be calling the historic Crowder Field at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith their home base. But don’t worry, baseball aficionados, this is just the first inning! The Marshals have their sights set on a brand new stadium on the scenic Riverfront Drive, aiming for a 2026 completion date. Talk about a home run view!
May 23rd: The Marshals Charge Out of the Gates!
Mark your calendars, because the Marshals are chomping at the bit to kick off their season on May 23rd. Buckle up for a battle for opening day bragging rights as they face off against the Texarkana squad. Behind the scenes, General Manager Greg Kigar, Director of Operations Jack Misterovich, and Director of Sales Laura Asbill are working tirelessly to make it a season to remember.
A Coaching Staff Built for Wins
The Fort Smith Marshals boast one of the most impressive coaching staffs in the MAL. At the helm is Field Manager Steve Maddock, a seasoned leader. Mike Goss, an 11th-round draft pick by the Boston Red Sox, brings his hitting expertise to the table. Toro Trevino, a veteran of various independent leagues, takes the reins as pitching coach, drawing on his experience playing for teams like the Windy City Thunderbolts and the McAllen Thunder.
Rounding out the all-star line-up is Bennie Westphal, a Fort Smith native and part-owner of the team.

Colors That Pack a Punch! Get ready to see a sea of navy blue and yellow flood the stands as the Marshals take the field as these are the teams primary colors.
Roster size
Each team in the MAL, including the Fort Smith Marshals, will be fielding a roster packed with up to 40 talented collegiate players.

Tickets
Tickets are on sale now and there are several packages available. Home plate terrace seats are $425 per seat for one year. Home plate Field level seats are $340 per seat for one year.
