Things are coming together fast now for teams in the Mid America League. Yesterday , the Texarkana team revealed their name: The Rhinos. Today, the Joplin Outlaws have the spotlight on them as they released the names of their first eight players they have signed to their roster.
Here's a closer look at the incoming Outlaws:
Cole Hill (22, Middle Infielder): The Owasso, Oklahoma native joins the Outlaws after playing for the Northwestern State Demons.
Jackson Purcell (Outfielder): Hailing from Moses Lake, Washington, Purcell played college ball for the University of Central Arkansas.
Gabe Russel (1B/OF): A product of Owasso and Rogers State University, Russel brings some pop to the lineup, boasting an on-base percentage of .436 in 16 games this season.
Evan Vienhage (19, Infielder): The Springfield, Missouri native joins the Outlaws from UCM Athletics.
Cael McCarville (3B/OF): Another Springfield native, McCarville played at Fort Scott Community College.
Landin Midgett (Utility): The Columbus, Kansas product comes to Joplin from Coffeyville Community College.
Will Newberry (Pitcher): Lexington, Kentucky's Newberry will look to add depth to the Outlaws' pitching staff. He played college ball at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Kenley Hood (First Base): Webb City, Missouri's Hood played at Highland Community College (Kansas) before joining the Outlaws.
This is just the first wave of signings for the Joplin Outlaws, so we'll update this article as more names are announced. Stay tuned.
