**Julio Pablo Martinez** signed with the Rangers last year after they lost out on the *Shohei Ohtani?*sweepstakes.

***Martinez*** got himself a promotion and I couldn't be more excited. He is now showing on the [roster](https://m.milb.com/t485/roster/?ref=theprospecttimes.com) for the Down East Wood Ducks. ***Martinez*** did an interview post with me and you can check it out [here](https://www.criswellscc.com/texas-rangers-prospect-julio-pablo-martinez/?ref=theprospecttimes.com).

#### Last year (2018)

Last year Martinez started off in the Dominican Summer League where he only played in 7 games. His average was .409 in 22 at bats. He hit 1 home run and had 3 RBI with an on-base percentage of .606!

**Julio Pablo Martinez** then promoted and spent the season with the Spokane Indians in short season. He played in 60 games and hit .252 with an on-base percentage of .351.

After the season, he was assigned to the Arizona Fall League where he hit for an average of .327 and OBP of .397\. He hit 1 home run and drove in 6 runs and hit for the cycle as well.

### 2019

This year he started in low-A with the Hickory Crawdads. In 10 games, 44 plate appearances and 40 at bats, he has hit .250 with a home run and 5 RBI. He's got some speed as well with 4 stolen bases.

We will see how it goes for him and you can bet we will keep you all caught up.
