The Rangers have announced the winners of the Player of the Month awards.
Among them is 26-year-old Blaine Crim from Round Rock, who was named Player of the Month. Crim boasts impressive hitting stats including a .329 AVG, .456 OBP, and 1.113 OPS for the month of July. He has hit 6 homers and driven in 14 RBI’s. Blaine, a 2019 19th round pick, currently holds a .285 batting average, 15 home runs, and 53 RBI’s, along with a .896 OPS, .389 OBP, and .516 SLG.
The Starting Pitcher of the Month title goes to 20-year-old left-hander Emmanuel Martinez from DSL. Emmanuel’s record shows him going 2-0 with a 1.99 ERA in 22.2 innings. He surrendered only 8 hits, struck out 32 batters, and walked 6 in 5 games, including 3 starts and 2 relief appearances. His opponents held a meager .110 Avg against him, and his WHIP stood at 0.62.
Emmanuel, who was signed by the Rangers as a Non-drafted F/A in 2021, currently holds a 3-0 record, 2.27 ERA, 35 IP, 52 SO, and 0.95 WHIP.
The Reliever of the Month award is given to 23-year-old left-hander Antoine Kelly from Frisco. In his 10 appearances spanning 11.1 innings, Antoine secured a 1-0 record with an impressive 0.00 ERA. He notched 2 saves out of 2 opportunities, allowing 7 hits while striking out 15 batters and walking 2.
Opponents struggled with a .171 batting average against him, and his WHIP stood at 0.79. Antoine, who joined the Rangers from Milwaukee through the Matt Bush trade in 2022, currently has a 3-0 record, 2.18 ERA, 41 IP, 53 SO, and 1.19 WHIP, with 7 saves out of 7 chances.
The Defender of the Month title is awarded to 22-year-old center fielder Daniel Mateo from Hickory. In 42 chances, Daniel maintained a flawless 1.000 fielding percentage. Over the season, he has maintained a solid .978 fielding percentage. Daniel, who was signed by the Rangers in 2019 from the Dominican Republic, holds a .255 batting average, 7 home runs, 45 RBI’s, and 24 steals out of 35 attempts.
