You could say that Jack Leiter wants to be back in Arlington. He dominated in his first start since his MLB debut, striking out the first three batters he faced and tossing 6 scoreless innings. Despite issuing 3 walks, he remained sharp, reaching up to 98.1 mph on the fastball.
The walks didn’t come back to haunt him like they have in the past.
A debut to remember
Making his Triple-A debut in relief, Aidan Anderson was impressive, pitching 3 hitless innings with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. He gave the Express just what they needed and ultimately earned the win.
Both Leiter and Anderson kept the Bees’ stingers quiet tonight.
At the plate
Offensively, the Express bats were led by Fabian and Ornelas, each collecting two hits.
Sandro Fabian emerged as the hero with a walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the ninth, scoring Huff from first and sending the 3,501 strong crowd at Dell Diamond home with a victory.
The Express move to 11-13 on the season.
