Texas Rangers prospect — outfielder Maxton Martin has been named to the Carolina League All-Star team at the designated hitter position.

The 20-year-old was a Texas Rangers' 11th-round pick (321st overall) in the 2023 draft out of Southridge High School in Kennewick, Washington.

In his 102 games with the Low-A Hickory Crawdads, Martin compiled an impressive stat line:

  • Batting Average: .259
  • On-Base Percentage: .343
  • Slugging Percentage: .440
  • OPS: .783
  • Home Runs: 12
  • Triples: 6
  • Doubles: 25
  • RBIs: 64
  • Walks: 45
  • Strikeouts: 101
  • Stolen Bases: 13 for 13

In addition to his time with Hickory, Martin also played 14 games with the High-A Hub City Spartanburgers, where he had 43 at-bats.

His performance there was as follows:

  • Batting Average: .256
  • On-Base Percentage: .385
  • Slugging Percentage: .488
  • OPS: .873
  • Home Runs: 2
  • Triples: 1
  • Doubles: 2
  • RBIs: 3
  • Walks: 7
  • Strikeouts: 14
  • Stolen Bases: 2 for 2

Through yesterday's games, Martin ranks top 10 among Texas Rangers farmhands in several key offensive categories this season.

He leads the organization in doubles (27), is third in total bases (198), fourth in hits, tied for fourth in RBIs, and tied for eighth in home runs.
