Abimelec Ortiz, was promoted from Double-A Frisco on Tuesday and made a thunderous Triple-A debut for the Round Rock Express on Tuesday August 5, 2025. The 23-year-old outfielder went 4-for-5 with two home runs and 8 RBI, powering an 11-5 rout over the Albuquerque Isotopes.
His eight RBI tied the Express club record for RBI in a single game. Just incredible for a debut.

Before the promotion, Ortiz dominated July with Frisco, slashing .341/.400/.682/1.082 with 7 home runs and 17 RBIs in 21 games, setting the stage for his Triple-A leap.

Notably, 18-year-old SS Yolfran Castillo, the club’s fifth-ranked prospect (third-best position player, per MLB Pipeline), was promoted to High-A Hickory from the Arizona Complex League.
