The 24-year-old hurler got his professional career off to a rocky start in his Major League debut against the Detroit Tigers, allowing seven runs on eight hits in just 3.2 innings. However, Leiter bounced back in a big way in his first Triple-A start against Salt Lake City on April 25th, tossing six dominant innings and surrendering just one hit while striking out eight batters.
This impressive performance suggests that Leiter’s early struggles in his big league debut were merely a blip on the radar and that he is quickly adjusting to the rigors of professional baseball. The 24-year-old appears poised to make a significant impact for the Round Rock Express and could potentially earn another shot at the major leagues sooner rather than later.
