Rangers Affiliates Recap 7/23

Hickory Crawdads:

The Crawdads lost 6-0 as they were only able to manage three hits against the Augusta GreenJackets (Atlanta Braves). Maxton Martin, Hector Osorio, and Pablo Guerrero each had a hit.

Enrique Segura got the start and took the loss only lasting 3.2 innings while allowing three runs on a trio hits as well as a trio of walks. He struck out a pair of hitters.

Grant Cherry came in next and struggled as he allowed two runs on five hits in one inning walked one and struck out three. Michael Trausch allowed one run on two hits in one inning with three hits and three walks.

Brock Porter finished off the game and he shined for them. Porter was scoreless in 2.1 innings while allowing two hits and a walk while striking out three. He continues to look good and improve his command.

Hub City Spartanburgers:

The Spartanburgers lost 7-3 against the Greenville Drive (Boston Red Sox). The Spartanburgers managed to out hit the Drive 10 to 7, but couldn't manage to get hits when it mattered.

Casey Cook and Quincy Scott both had multiple hits. No.2 Malcolm Moore had a hit too. John Taylor had a two RBI single and Quincy Scott drew a walk with the bases loaded to force in a run giving them a 3-1 advantage.

Josh Trentadue was great in his start with four scoreless innings with no hits and two walks as he struck out seven. It went downhill from there as Anthony Susac and Adrian Rodriguez both allowed one run each.

Wilian Bormie had the wheels come for him as he allowed four runs in 1.1 innings on four hits with one walk and struck out one. Adonis Villavicencio allowed one unearned run in one inning on no hits and one walk while striking out one.

Frisco Roughriders:

Sebastian Walcott propelled the Roughriders 3-0 win against the Wichita Wind Surge (Minnesota Twins). Walcott had a two RBI double in the first inning to bring home Cam Cauley and Alejandro Osuna. Josh Hatcher would bring in another run on a groundout in the sixth inning. That was all the run support that the Roughrider pitchers needed.

Josh Stephan would fire 4.2 innings of scoreless baseball allowing three hits with no walks and four strikeouts. Ryan Lobus would get the win with 1.1 innings of no hit and no walk ball with three strikeouts.

Missaki, Collyer, and Carrillo would each fire a scoreless inning to cap off the game. Missaki and Collyer would both get holds well Carrillo would get his second save of the year.

Round Rock Express:

The Round Rock Express suffered a 11-6 loss to the Tacoma Reiners (Seattle Mariners). Carl Edwards Jr, who the Rangers acquired recently struggled as he allowed six runs on ten hits with two walks and one strikeout.

The bats were solid as they had 11 hits led by Billy McKinney and Cooper Johnson who both had three hits. McKinney hit his fourth home run of the year as did Johnson.

The Express battled back and tied the game up at six in the sixth inning on a home run from Frainyer Chavez. However, the bullpen couldn't hold the lead. Robby Ahlstrom allowed two runs in 0.2 innings and took the loss.

Jose Ruiz also had a rough go of it as he allowed four runs in 0.2 innings on three hits. Some of the bullpen arms were good as Kimbrel, Hales, and Heuer were all scoreless.
