March 16th-

The Rangers are slated to play the Chicago White Sox today. Jack Leiter gets the ball to start this one. The Rangers got on the board early in the first inning. Josh Smith tripled home Marcus Semien, who led off the inning on a single. Later that inning Adolis Garcia got an RBI on a sacrifice fly to tie the game for the Rangers at 2-2. The Rangers didn’t score until the 9th inning where they scored 4 runs, to bring their run total to 6. They scored on a groundout, a double, a single and a wild pitch. Pitching was not great today for Rangers, only one pitcher didn’t give up a run. That being Caleb Boushley who walked a hitter in his inning of work. Hoby Milner gave up an unearned run, and struck out a hitter. Jack Leiter’s command wasn’t great today, he had 3 walks but he did have 4 strikeouts in 4 innings.

March 18th-

The Rangers are set to face off against the Cleveland Guardians in this one. Tyler Mahle got the start in this one. The Rangers once again got on the board early, they scored in the bottom of the 1st inning on a 3-run double from Adolis Garcia to take a 3-0 lead. Wyatt Langford added to the Rangers’ run total in the bottom of the 5th on an RBI triple to make it a 4-2 Rangers lead. Next batter Joc Pederson smacks a double down the right field line to score Wyatt Langford. Joc had a little bit of fun coming out of the box, he carried the bat all the way to first base and pointed to the dugout with the bat, and his tongue was out too. I got a laugh out of watching that. Then in the bottom of the 6th inning Kevin Pillar hits a 2-run home run to center field to bring the Rangers run total to 7. That’s all the Rangers would need in this one. The pitching gave up 3 runs in the game. Two runs were scored on two solo home runs that were let up by Tyler Mahle, and the other one was another solo home run, this one given up by Patrick Murphy. Tyler Mahle looked good in this one besides the two pitches that were home runs. Mahle through 5 innings struck out 6 hitters, walked 2 hitters, and gave up 2 hits. Patrick Murphy continued to look good, he got through 3 2/3 innings allowing 3 hits and striking out 4 hitters. He did give up his first run of the spring.
