On Monday, June 30, 2025, the Texas Rangers signed 23-year-old right-handed pitcher Masahiro Fukuda, a standout from Japan’s independent leagues, as reported by Francys Romero.

Trained by the Shima Baseball Academy, Fukuda brings a diverse arsenal to the Rangers’ farm system.

While the specifics of the deal remain unknown, Fukuda’s official MLB.com player profile confirms it as a minor-league contract, with the Rangers assigning him to DSL Rangers Blue, one of their two Dominican Summer League teams.

## Impressive Arsenal and Profile

Fukuda, born on July 11, 2001, in Japan, offers a dynamic pitching repertoire honed through his independent league experience. His key stats and attributes:

- Fastball: 88–92 MPH
- Slider: 3000 RPM
- Additional pitches: Curve, cutter, splitter
- Height: 5' 9"
- Weight: 172 pounds
- Bats/Throws: Right/Right
- Status: Active
Though a lower-profile addition compared to Seong, Fukuda possesses tantalizing upside if he can navigate the minor leagues successfully. With his compact frame and high-spin slider, his skill set aligns with the Rangers’ focus on versatile arms, setting the stage for a potential climb through the system.
