Round Rock Express: Crim’s Hot Streak Not Enough in Loss to OKC

As the saying goes, momentum in baseball is only as good as the next day’s pitcher. Despite a strong performance at the plate by Blaine Crim, the Round Rock Express couldn’t overcome their pitching struggles, falling to OKC at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Blaine Crim Stays Hot

First baseman Blaine Crim continued his impressive start, going 3-for-5 with his second home run of the season, his sixth double, and 1 RBI, bringing his season total to 10 RBIs.

Cody Freeman went 3-for-4, while Alan Trejo added 2-for-4 with 2 doubles and 1 RBI, increasing his season total to 5. Evan Carter went 0-for-3 but drew a walk; he was removed in the 8th inning after being hit in the hand while attempting to bunt for a hit.

Nolan Hoffman’s Start

Express starting pitcher Nolan Hoffman pitched 2.1 innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 run, 2 walks, and recording 4 strikeouts.

Relievers Face Challenges

Hunter Strickland replaced Hoffman, pitching 2/3 of an inning but struggled, giving up 4 hits, 5 runs, and 2 walks.

Emiliano Teodo followed, throwing 1.2 innings, allowing 3 hits, 3 runs, 1 walk, and recording 2 strikeouts. JT Chargois pitched 1/3 of an inning, surrendering 4 hits and 5 runs. Catcher Konner Piotto, in a rare pitching appearance, closed out the game, throwing 2/3 of an inning, allowing 2 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 1 home run.
