24-year-old right-hander Ryan Garcia was named Carolina League Pitcher of the Week for Aug 22-28!
The Texas Rangers selected Garcia in the 2nd round (50th) of the 2019 draft from UCLA.
On August 28th against the Fredericksburg Nationals, Ryan pitched 5 scoreless and no-hit innings with 4 strikeouts. He threw 72 pitches/49 strikes and 23 balls.
This is also Ryan Garcia's first professional win. In 12 starts he has a 1-2 win-loss record with a 2.31 ERA in 46 innings and 59 strikeouts.
