Saguaros continue dominance of the AFL

The Suprise Saguaros continue their dominance of the Arizona Fall League and have now won six games in a row. The Solar Sox made it interesting but the Saguaros held on to win by a final of 10-9 at Sloan Park in front of a crowd of 401.

Right-hander James Marinan got the start for the Saguaros against right-hander Michael Dominguez. Marinan (3.72) did not factor into the decision but pitched 2.2 innings giving up four runs on five hits, four walks and three strikeouts.

Out of the bullpen

Blaine Abeyta (1-0, 7.71) earned the win for the Saguaros and pitched 2.1 scoreless innings and struckout three.

Rangers right-hander Tim Brennan (9.00) pitched one inning. He allowed two runs on three hits, including a home run.

Jacques Pucheu and Zach Greene etched pitched a scoreless inning. Todd Peterson pitched the bottom of the 9th where the Solar Sox tried to rally but came up short. They scored three runs on three hits including a home run.

The Saguaros scored 10 runs on 14 hits.

The 3-9 hitters went 12-30 (.400) with a home run and all 10 RBI. Seuly Matias (.220) went 1-4 with the home run, 3 RBI and a walk.

Elijah Dunham (.389) went 3-4, with 2 RBI and a walk.

Five Saguaros had a multi-hit game: Nathan Eaton (2), Elijah Dunham (3), Andres Chaparro (2), Luca Tresh (2) and Jackson Cluff (2). They accounted for 11 of the 14 hits for the Saguaros.

Left-hander Brody Rodning (0-1, 8.53) took the loss for the Solar Sox. Blaine Abeyta (1-0, 7.71) earned the win the Saguaros.

With this win the Saguaros move to 11-3 and have won six in a row. They will look to make seven in row today.
