Yesterday, following the Wyatt Langford news conference, the Rangers announced that they had just signed their 6th-round pick, #171 overall, RHP Caden Scarborough. He is 6'5" and 185 lbs. and comes to the Rangers from Harmony High School in Florida. The Dallas Baptist commit signed for $515,000, which is above the slot value for the #171 pick, which is $339,400. The Texas Rangers strengthened their already strong farm system with the selection of outfielder Wyatt Langford with their 4th overall pick of the 2023 Draft. They needed to make a "safe" pick with their first round pick this year. Their selection of Wyatt Langford, out of Florida, ensured them of as safe a pick as they could've had. Once again, in this year’s draft the Rangers do not have a second or a third round pick.  It is looking more and more like the Rangers will draft one of either Walker Jenkins, Wyatt Langford or Max Clark with their first-round pick, with the consensus still favoring Jenkins.
