Texas Rangers General Manager Chris Young announced today that right-handed pitcher Kumar Rocker will undergo Tommy John surgery. The surgery will be performed by Dr. Keith Meister in Dallas, Texas. Congratulations to Texas Rangers pitching prospect, Kumar Rocker, who was selected as the South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week for April 10-16. Kumar was selected by the Rangers with the 3rd overall pick in the 2022 draft. In his first start on April 11th, Kumar (W,1-0) went 5 innings giving up only 2 hits and striking out 8. Winston Santos made his 1st start in a Hickory Crawdads uniform. The outing couldn't have gone better for the 20-year-old right-hander. Winston Santos (W,1-0) went 6 innings, only giving up 1 hit, ZERO walks and runs, plus 5 strikeouts. He threw 77 pitches- 53 strikes-24 balls and only had two 3-ball counts in his 6 innings.
