TCL RoughRiders walk, hit and pitch their way to victory.
The Frisco RoughRiders quite literally walked all over the Bombers for a series-clinching win by a final of 11-2. The RoughRiders record is now 5-10 record.
The ‘Riders put it all together for a well played game. The pitching staff held the Bombers to two runs whike limiting the free passes and the line-up lit up the Bombers pitching staff.
Pitching
Jacob Meador was the starting pitcher for the RoughRiders and pitched three scoreless innings. He gave up two hits, walked two and struck out one.
Rhett Kouba pitched 2/3 of an inning and gave up a hit and struck out a batter. Including tonight, he has pitched 5.2 scoreless innings in his three appearances.
Ross Carver pitched 3.1 innings and allowed one run on two hits and one walk. He struck out three batters and thre 43 pitches – 28 for strikes. ERA 1.08.
Zeke Wood allowed one run in his two innings. He allowed a hit, walked one and struck out three.
Line-up
As mentioned above, the RoughRiders line-up worked 10 walks. But they also got 12 hits. Three batters were held hitless. Four batters had multiple hits while two got one hit each.
Garrett Gouldsmith went 2 for 4 with a walk and 4 RBI. Shortstop Tommy Sacco went 3 for 5 with a walk and 3 RBI. Max Blessinger who is typically a catcher played left field and worked an impressive 4 walks. He’s got a .333 average.
The RoughRiders line-up still need to get their strikeouts under control. As a unit they struck out 14 times.
The next series is a three game series against the Amarillo Sod Squad in Amarillo at Hodgetown.
