Texas A&M begins its final non-conference weekend series as daunting SEC conference schedule looms.

Texas A&M Baseball will play its last non-conference weekend series, starting Friday versus Oakland. The Aggies will play a double header Friday starting at 2 p.m., due to expected rain on Saturday.

Texas A&M is ranked # 22 and is 11-1. Their only loss was to the # 1 ranked UCLA Bruins. The Aggies are off to a great start, and should feel great about it, after a disastrous 2025 season, however the SEC Conference schedule is looming.

Coming into today, there are 11 teams from the SEC ranked in the Top 25, six of them sit in the top 10. Those 11 teams have a combined record of 121-22. The #3 ranked Texas Longhorns remain undefeated. The SEC is deep and no conference weekend series can be taken for granted. There is a reason the SEC has dominated college baseball in modern times.

Starting pitcher Shade Sdao is ranked # 45 on MLB's top 100 prospect list. In 3 starts, he has a 1.96 ERA and is 2-0. He has 17 strikeouts and 1 walk on the season.

Starting pitcher Aiden Sims has and ERA of 2.04, with 21 strikeouts in 17.2 innings. Teams are hitting .119 off of him.

Oakland will go to College Station with a record of 1-11. They have lost nine in a row. Their lone win was versus Lamar on February 15th. Texas A&M will be the third SEC team in a row that the Golden Grizzlies have faced after previously playing Georgia for 4 games and Tennessee on Wednesday night.

The Aggies will take on SFA on Tuesday before traveling to Norman to take on the 12th ranked Sooners next weekend. OU has been to the NCAA Tournament the last 4 seasons. They were the College World Series runner up in 2022 losing to Ole Miss.
