Texas A&M's Major League talent on full display in season opener

The Aggies have 4 of MLB's 2026 Top 100 Draft Prospects

College Baseball returned to Blue Bell Field on Friday night as Texas A&M defeated Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles 15-6, in front of a full house for their 2026 season opener.

The Aggies, ranked 25th in the D1 baseball poll, sent left hander Shane Sdao to the mound to be the opening day Starter. Sdao who missed all of last season due to Tommy John surgery retired the first 6 batters he faced, after the Aggies opened up an early 4-0 lead. Sdao allowed hits to the first two Tennessee Tech batters in the top of the 3rd. SS Owen Lee then hit a three-run homer to bring the game within one run for the Golden Eagles.

Sdao is ranked number 45 on MLB's Top 100 draft prospects for the 26 Draft. He gave up 4 runs, 7 hits, 5K's and 0 Walks on 83 pitches in 5.1 innings.

Offensively for the Aggies, Gavin Grahovac, number 26 on MLB's draft prospect list, started things off for with a double in the bottom of the first. He scored when Maryland transfer Chris Hacopian brought him home in the bottom of the first. Hacopian had an RBI in both the 1st and 2nd inning. Hacopian is ranked # 16 on MLB's Draft prospect list.

Texas A&M knocked Tennessee Tech pitcher, Jaxon Peasen out of the game after 47 pitches and 1.2 innings.

Caden Sorrell homered in bottom of the 6th and 7th innings for a two-homerun night. Sorrell is Ranked # 20 on MLB's draft prospect list. Texas A&M finished the game with 18 hits.
