Texas Rangers Announce Minor League Award Winners for May 2025

The Texas Rangers named their Minor League Players of the Month for May 2025 today, spotlighting standout performances across the farm system. The awards recognize infielder Devin Fitz-Gerald, starting pitcher Mitch Bratt, reliever Dalton Pence, and defender Cam Cauley.
Player of the Month: Devin Fitz-Gerald
Devin Fitz-Gerald, a 19-year-old infielder and 2024 5th-round pick from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, earned Player of the Month honors. In May, Fitz-Gerald posted a .339/.449/.645 slash line with a 1.094 OPS, collecting 21 hits in 62 at-bats, including 5 home runs, 4 doubles, 16 RBIs, and 2 stolen bases. For the 2025 season, he’s hitting .329 with 6 home runs, 18 RBIs, 3 stolen bases, a .436 OBP, .610 SLG, and 1.046 OPS over 82 at-bats.
Starting Pitcher of the Month: Mitch Bratt
Mitch Bratt, a 21-year-old left-hander and the Rangers’ #21 prospect, was named Starting Pitcher of the Month. The 2021 5th-round pick from Georgia Premier High School in Statesboro, Georgia, born in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, went 3-0 with a 1.33 ERA over 27 innings in 5 starts for Double-A Frisco. He allowed 4 earned runs, 3 walks, and struck out 31 batters, posting a 10.33 SO/BB ratio, .238 OBA, and 1.00 WHIP. For the season, Bratt has a 2.26 ERA across 10 games, with 51 innings pitched, 61 strikeouts, and a 1.08 WHIP. His career stats include a 19-15 record, 3.05 ERA, 309.2 innings, 363 strikeouts, and a 1.15 WHIP over 73 games.
Reliever of the Month: Dalton Pence
Dalton Pence, a 22-year-old left-handed reliever and 2024 11th-round pick from North Carolina, was named Reliever of the Month. At High-A Hickory, Pence went 3-0 with a 0.60 ERA in 6 appearances (2 starts), pitching 15 innings, allowing 4 hits, 1 run, 4 walks, and striking out 24 batters. Opponents hit just .082 against him, with a 0.53 WHIP. For the season, Pence is 3-0 with a 3.13 ERA over 15 games, logging 31.2 innings, 20 hits, 9 walks, 45 strikeouts, a .180 OBA, and a 0.92 WHIP.
Defender of the Month: Cam Cauley
Cam Cauley, a 22-year-old infielder/outfielder and 2021 3rd-round pick from Barbers Hill High School in Mont Belvieu, Texas, earned Defender of the Month honors. Playing for Double-A Frisco, Cauley recorded a .975 fielding percentage with 2 errors in 81 total chances over 26 games, splitting time at shortstop (10 games), center field (9 games), and second base (7 games). For the season, he’s played 21 games at second base, 16 in center field, and 15 at shortstop, with 6 errors total. Offensively in May, Cauley hit .271 with a .311 OBP and .458 SLG. For the season, he’s batting .254 over 193 at-bats, with 4 home runs, 17 RBIs, and 17 stolen bases.
