February 6, 2021

  • The Rangers Khris Davis, C Jonah Heim, and RHP Dane Acker from Oakland for SS Elvis Andrus, C Aramis Garcia, and cash considerations. Davis and Heim go on Major League roster, which is at 40.

January 5, 2021

  • The Texas Rangers completed their trade with the Rays. They acquired OF Carl Chester as the PTBNL in the Lowe/ Guenther trade.
  • Signed Drew Anderson to a minor league deal.

December 28th

  • INF-OF Charlie Culberson to a 2021 minor League contract with an invite to spring training.
  • Re-signed 4 minor league free agents: the great Tim Dillard, Jesus Linarez, Collin Wiles and LHP Sal Mendez. Also signed OF Elier Hernandez. All will report to minor league ST camp.

December 25th

Merry Christmas Texas Rangers fans! The Rangers have signed Japanese right-hander Kohei Arihara, to a two-year deal.

December 22nd

  • Mike Franco has been hired as the Major League Mental Skills Coach after working in that capacity with Dallas Mavericks and Texas Legends. (Don’t know the official role of a Mental Skills Coach).
  • Al Sandoval, who has worked in the Texas’ farm system for the last four years, has been promoted to Major League Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach.

  • Scott Heineman is traded to the Reds in exchange for Jose Acosta.

December 15th

  • Rangers traded Rafael Montero to the Seattle Mariners for Jose Corniell and PTBNL.

December 11th

  • Rangers re-sign Jimmy Herget. Designate Scott Heineman.
  • Rangers signed Outfielder David Dahl to a one year deal.

December 10th

  • Rangers select Brett De Geus in the Major-League portion of the rule-5 draft.
  • Rangers select Matt Wivinis and Yohel Pozo in the minor-league portion of the rule-5 draft.
  • Rangers complete a 6-player trade between the Rays. The Rangers acquired 1st baseman Nate Lowe, Jake Guenther and a PTBNL.

December 8th

  • The Lance Lynn trade from 12/7/2020 is officially announced. The Rangers recieved Dane Dunning and Avery Weems from Chicago.

December 4th

  • Rangers announce former MLB pitcher and Rangers pitcher, Chris Young as the new GM. Jon Daniels is still the President of Baseball Operations.

December 3rd

  • Rangers re-sign, OF Scott Heineman.
  • Rangers sign RHP, Joe Gatto.

Roster is at 38.

December 1st

  • Rangers announce IKF to start at short in 2021.

November 25th

  • Rangers acquire catcher Aramis Garcia from San Francisco on a waiver claim. Roster at 39.

Rangers will not bring back pitching coach Julio Rangel. Also Hector Ortiz will not be part of major league staff.

Sunday September 27th

  • Shin-Soo Choo is activated from the IL.
  • Sherten Apostel placed on the IL retroactive to September 25th for low back tightness.

Friday September 18th

  • One of the Rangers top pitching prospects Ricky Vanasco is scheduled to undergo Tommy John surgery on his right-elbow.
  • Josh Jung has been given time off since he has been at the alternate training site since the season began. The Arizona Instructional league is set to begin next month.

Thursday September 17th

  • RHP Luis Garcia was designated for assignment on Tuesday, cleared waivers and was granted free agency.

Tuesday September 15th

  • Willie Calhoun is activated from the IL.
  • DeMarcus Evans was called up, finally.
  • Luis García was designated for assignment.
  • The Rangers signed Andrew Romine to a minor league contract.

Saturday September 12th

  • Shortstop Elvis Andrus is placed on the IL for his lingering back injury.
  • 3rd Baseman, Sherten Apostel has his contract purchased and is making his major league debut.
  • Right-handed pitcher, Luke Farrell was recalled from the Alternate site.

Thursday September 10th

  • Rangers have selected the contract of Sam Huff.
  • Outfielder Scott Heineman optioned to the Alternate Training Site.

Sunday September 6th

  • LHP Joely Rodriguez has been placed on the 10-day IL with a left hamstring strain.
  • RHP Jesse Chavez has been activated from the 10-day IL.
  • INF Yadiel Rivera cleared waivers and was assigned outright to the Rangers Alternate Training Site. He was designated for assignment on Friday.

Friday September 4th

  • John King was called up from the alternate site to make his Major League Debut.
  • Yadiel Rivera was designated for assignment.
  • Jake Latz was added to the Rangers 60-man player pool.

Tuesday September 1st

  • Luke Farrell activated from IL and moved to the alternate site.
  • Davis Wendzel, Bubba Thompson and Steele Walker added to the 60-man player pool.

Monday August 31st: Trade deadline 3 PM CST

  • Rangers trade Mike Minor to the Division rival Athletics for two PTBNL.
  • Robinson Chirinos and Todd Frazier AKA The Toddfather were traded to the Mets.
  • The Rangers send Rougned Odor to the IL and will activate Elvis Andrus. Anderson Tejeda, Eli White and John King will be called up.

  • Danny Santana placed on 10-day IL retro to 8/27 with a right elbow sprain.
  • 1B Ronald Guzman recalled from Alternate Training Site.

Thursday August 27th

  • INF-OF Rob Refsnyder, who was DFA’d on Monday, has been assigned outright to the Rangers Alternate Training Site.

Wednesday August 26th

  • Nick Goody was activated from the 10-day IL.
  • Ian Gibaut was assigned to the alternate site.

Tuesday August 25th

  • Catcher Blake Swihart was released from the alternate site.
