The Texas Rangers are promoting top prospect Evan Carter. He will make his MLB Debut on Friday against the Oakland Athletics.
Fans are excited to see the outfielder as the offense has been struggling lately. Carter is being called up in place of Adolis García, who is being placed on the IL. Carter won't replace García's power but he has patience at the plate that should pay off with him getting on base. That is something the Rangers desperately need.
Evan Carter's numbers this season:
In Double-A Frisco (97 games): .284/.411/.451 with 12 home runs, 62 RBI
In Triple-A Round Rock (8 games): .353/.436/.382 with 3 RBI.
As you can see, he handled Double-A well and handled Triple-A well even though it is a small sample size.
The Texas Rangers drafted Evan Carter in the 2nd round of the 2020 draft and he quickly rose to the top prospect ranks within the Farm system. Currently, MLB Pipeline ranks him as the eighth-best prospect in all of baseball.
