With the Rangers heading to Anaheim for a 3 game series with the 2nd place Angels, let’s look at the season so far as the first month of Baseball has ended.

The Good

The Rangers are on top in the AL West. The AL’s Rookie of the month of April Josh Jung is on fire defensively and, racking heat of the bat batting .275 avg. and 8 homeruns we see the potential in a “Jung “ star.

Jonah Heim has improved defensively and also hitting bombs in the batters box batting .294 and 6 homeruns , and and ops of .959 he has put the league on notice.

Adolis Garcia picking up where he left off last year creating amazing defensive opportunities El Bombi is still a fan favorite and creating big at bats and giving fans souvenirs with bombs in the stands.

Ezequiel Duran has placed himself in some big shoes to fill while Seager out with his hamstring injury, he’s hopeful to return soon but with the production of Duran , he can takes his time.

Duran has showed that he was up for the task to take over Shortstop while Seager misses time not only defensively is he a solid piece for this teams future. Duran is batting .324 and an OPS of .858 in only 71 at bats is pretty impressive.

The Bad

The Rangers bullpen has not showed up with relievers coming in and walking batters , and giving up leads, this has been the problem the Rangers need to address. Jose Leclerc and Ian Kennedy being the bigger Relievers, they haven’t shown they can come in and close the games as expected. That role has been mostly filled by (2 Time World Series Champ) Will Smith.

The Ugly

With only 1 month into the season the Rangers are heading on 10 game road trip with 3 in LA , 3 in Seattle, and closing 4 games in Oakland.

This road trip is set to have Jacob DeGrom to miss this road trip with right forearm tightness.

deGrom has a history of injuries but, it being only a precautionary hold after MRIs showed inflammation in right elbow DeGrom is set to miss a few weeks per manager Bruce Bochy.

It’s too early to tell if the Rangers are contenders or pretenders yet but, so far Fans are excited to move forward with the production of this team. Tune in Tonight as they Take on the 2nd place Angels in Anaheim to start a 3 game series. Dane Dunning expected to get the start to fill in while DeGrom heals.
