Round Rock Express Fall Short in Rally Attempt
The Round Rock Express (31-30) fought hard but ultimately fell 9-10 to the Oklahoma City Baseball Club. The Express made a valiant effort to come back, highlighted by an outstanding performance from Jose Barrero, who blasted two home runs. His first homer in the top of the 4th traveled 408 feet to left field, and his second in the 6th traveled 389 feet. Barrero went 2-4 with his 2 HRs and 4 RBIs.
Dustin Harris also had a notable performance, going 2-5 with an RBI. Despite their efforts, the OKC Baseball Club’s 6-run bottom of the 3rd proved too much for the Express to overcome.
Frisco RoughRiders
The Frisco RoughRiders (36-20) were bested by the Hooks with a final score of 4-1. Starter Dane Acker pitched 5 innings, allowing 4 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits, 1 walk, and striking out 4. He threw 83 pitches, 54 for strikes.
Tyler Owens pitched a scoreless 9-pitch inning out of the pen, allowing just one hit. Reid Birlingmair also contributed with two scoreless innings, striking out one. Offensively, the RoughRiders managed only one run, which came on a wild pitch in the top of the 5th.
Hickory Crawdads Dominate the Drive
The Hickory Crawdads (25-31) put on a show with a 12-1 victory over the Greenville Drive, thanks to a massive 7-run 7th inning. Alejandro Osuna led the charge, blasting two home runs, including a grand slam, and going 2-5 with 5 RBIs and a walk. Sebastian Walcott added to the fireworks with his 5th HR of the season, making it 2 HRs in his last 4 games.
On the mound, Winston Santos was outstanding, pitching 6 innings and allowing only 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 8. He threw 80 pitches, 60 for strikes. The Crawdads are now on a 5-game win streak and have a 7-3 record in their last 10 games.
Down East Wood Ducks Secure Win Over Red Sox
The Down East Wood Ducks (30-25) secured an 11-7 victory against the Red Sox, propelled by a 7-run top of the 9th inning. RHP Alejandro Rosario (1.73) started for the Wood Ducks, pitching 5 innings and allowing 3 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits while striking out 7 and issuing no walks.
ACL Rangers
The ACL Rangers (15-11) faced a tough 3-9 loss against the ACL Mariners. At the plate, the team managed 3 runs on 3 hits. Justin Foscue, who is on a rehab assignment, went 2-4 with an RBI, including a double. Braylin Morel contributed by going 1-4 with an RBI, and Yeremi Cabrera added an RBI with a walk.
DSL Rangers Red
The DSL Rangers Red (4-1) won 4-2 over the DSL Twins. Starter Emmanuel Martinez (4.91) went 3.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits, 5 walks, and striking out 5. Jhemiangel Tovar pitched 2.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen, giving up 2 hits, 1 walk, and striking out 3. Jesus Gamez shut the door for the last three innings, allowing just 1 walk and striking out 4.
At the plate, the Rangers Red scored 4 runs on 10 hits. Yolfran Castillo (.529) went 3-4 with a walk and 2 runs. Deward Tovar (.474) went 2-4 with 2 RBIs, a walk, and a run. Kleimer Lemos went 3-5 with an RBI, including two doubles. Aniel Mendoza added an RBI on a sac-fly in the top of the 5th. Neither team scored from innings 6-9.
DSL Rangers Blue
The DSL Rangers Blue (3-1) dominated with a 10-0 victory over the DSL Mets Blue. Jose Marcano (.375) went 2-4 with 2 RBIs and a walk. Michael Guzman also had a strong game, going 2-5 with 3 RBIs. SS Daniel Flames (.462), who batted leadoff, went 1-1 with 2 RBIs and 4 walks.
On the mound, starter Oscar Romero pitched 4 innings, allowing 3 hits, 1 walk, and striking out 6. Bernardo Rivera earned the win with 5 scoreless innings out of the bullpen, allowing just 1 hit, 3 walks, and striking out 6.
