Wyatt Langford, was named the Texas League player of the month for September. The Texas Rangers got the steal of the 2023 draft in Langford.
After the Rangers drafted Langford 4th overall, thanks to the first-ever draft lottery, he skyrocketed through the Texas Rangers farm system.
With the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders, Langford slashed a line of 405/.519/.762/1.280 with 4 home runs, 10 RBI, 11 walks compared to 7 strikeouts in 12 games. That's just unfair to Texas League pitching which is why that line earned him player of the month honors.
He finished the season with the Triple-A Round Rock Express where he slashed a line of .368/.539/.526/1.065 with an RBI, 6 walks and 3 stolen bases in 5 games.
He spent the majority of his first professional season in High-A Hickory with the Crawdads. In 24 games he hit .333/.453/.644/1.097 with 5 home runs and 15 RBI.
The Texas Rangers named Wyatt their player of the month back in August when he slashed a line of 324/.457/.622/1.079 with 4 home runs, 2 triples, 6 doubles, 12 RBI, and 17 walks/15 strikeouts across 21 games for Hickory (High-A).
Congratulations to Wyatt Langford on being named the Texas League Player of the month for September!
