2019 Spokane Indians win season Opener 9-1

The Spokane Indians season started today, Friday June 14th. They are the short season Single-A affiliate of our Texas Rangers.

Their 2019 roster was just recently released and there are 6 players that returned from the 2018 season.

They opened the season in Vancouver against the Vancouver Canadians at Scotiabank Field. As you may have guessed the Canadians are the Single-A short season affiliate of the Blue Jays.

His line was 4 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 7 SO and he threw 80 pitches-50 for strikes.

Teodoro Ortega

19 year old Right-handed pitcher from Panama City pitched 2 scoreless innings of relief and got the win.

His line was 2 IP, 1 H, 1 BB and 3 SO on 32 pitches- 20 for strikes.

The Indians also got scoreless innings from right hander Nic Laio and Theo McDowell. McDowell walked a batter and struck out 1 in his inning.

The offense scored 9 runs on 8 hits

Ryan Anderson was the only one in the line-up with multiple hits. Cristian Inoa and Luis Asuncion each had multiple RBI’s with 2 each.

We can expect some of the Rangers 2019 draft picks to be assigned to Spokane soon.
