The Surprise Saguaros (13-7) have been playing winning baseball except for the last two games they’ve played against the Glendale Desert Dogs (12-8) who now sit one game behind the Saguaros. Both teams are 6-4 over their last 10-games played.

The Desert Dogs won the Thursday game by a final of 5-2 and then won 8-6 on Friday.

The Saguaros sent right-hander James Marinan of the Reds to the mound. He pitched 3.2 innings. The Desert Dogs scored four runs on five hits. They worked one walk and struckout three times.

Ezequiel Duran of the Rangers led things off and went 1-5 with a run scored and RBI. His RBI came from a ground-rule double as part of a 3-run 4th inning to give the Saguaros the 4-2 lead at the time. The Desert Dogs didn’t let them enjoy the lead long though as they added 2 runs in the bottom of the 4th to tie the game.

The Dogs took the lead for good in the bottom of the 5th from a Jose Rodriguez single and Juan Yepez groundout. It was 6-4 Desert Dogs at the time.

The Rangers Eudrys Manon (8.10) pitched a scoreless inning giving up one hit and striking out two.
