Hickory Crawdads

The Crawdads beat the Fireflies 8-2. Jesus Lafalasie was the star as he fired five innings of no hit ball. He walked a pair of hitters while striking out three hitters, he was recently promoted on August 5th. He is 20 years old.

Pablo Guerrero got the scoring started with a two run bomb in the second inning, it was his sixth home run of the year. He had another hit besides the home run. The bats were working for the Crawdads as three other hitters also had multiple hits.

Yeremy Cabera had a team high three hits and launched his eighth homer of the year. Maxton Martin had two hits and launched his 12th home run of the year. Yolfran Castillo was the last hitter to have multiple hits.

Kyle Larsen was strong as he threw 2.1 scoreless innings while just allowing one hit and two walks while striking out two.

Hub City Spartanburgers

The Spartanburgers lost 4-1 to the BlueClaws. Anthony Gutierrez led the team with hits as he managed to get two. No one else on the team had more than one. The only run that came in for the Spartanburgers was on a wild pitch that scored John Taylor.

D.J. McCarty took the loss as he allowed two runs on six hits in 4.2 innings while allowing two walks and striking out seven. Thomas Ireland would get the rest of the game finishing up the last 3.1 innings. He allowed two runs on four hits with no walks and four strikeouts.

Frisco Roughriders

The Frisco Roughriders picked up a close 5-4 win against the Travelers. Julian Brock led the team with hits as he collected four. Aaron Zavala also had a big day as he collected four RBIs. He led the scoring off with a three run homer in the third inning. He would get his last RBI in the fifth inning on a sac fly to bring in Cam Cauley after he had a RBI triple.

The Travelers would start to come back as they scored a run in the fifth inning and three runs in the sixth inning. Josh Stephan allowed one run on four hits in 4.1 innings while walking three and striking out two.

Avery Weems would get the win as he allowed three runs on five hits in 1.2 innings with no walks and a strikeout. Bryan Magdaleno picked up the hold with a scoreless inning allowing a hit, a walk, and striking out two.

Eric Loomis got the two inning save while allowing no runs, no hits, no walks, and struck out five.

Round Rock Express

The Round Rock Express suffered a 9-8 loss in 11 innings to the Isotopes. The Express bullpen could not hold onto the lead in the ninth inning as Joe Barlow allowed a game tying two run home run.

Dane Acker would also have trouble closing out the game as he allowed a pair of runs in the tenth and would take the loss as he gave up two more runs in the 11th. It was not a good day for Acker and the bullpen.

Trey Supak pitched well enough to pick up a win as he allowed one run on four hits with two walks while striking out four in five innings.

Cody Freeman, Alan Trejo, and Cooper Johnson all led the team with two hits a piece. Johnson launched a two home run in the top of the ninth, but as I said earlier the bullpen could not hold the lead. Johnson had three RBIs and that was his fifth of the year.

Trejo had a pair of RBIs and hit his 13th homer of the year.
