Every Series for the RoughRiders is important for the next month and half +. (A little less than 2 months). If they want to make the post-season they’ve got to start winning Series.

The RoughRiders got off to a good start last night as they beat the Hooks by a final of 14-1.

RHP Jonathan Hern?ndez (3-7, 5.68)

Hern?ndez is one of my favorite players in Frisco. According to MLB.com he is the 8th ranked Prospect in the Rangers farm system this year.

His best game this year was against the Hooks on May 31st where he pitched 7 innings, allowed only 3 hits and struck out 10. On June 27th against the RockHounds, he pitched 7 innings. He allowed 1 unearned run on 2 hits and struck out 9.

Right-handed batters are hitting for a .274 average while Left-handed batters are hitting .285 on the season.

Here are some of the Hooks line-up against Hern?ndez:

Seth Beer: .556 AVG, 1 home run, 2 RBI in 9 at bats.

Osvaldo Duarte: .444 AVG, 1 HR, 2 RBI in 9 at bats

Anibal Sierra: .300 AVG, 4 RBI’s in 10 at bats

Hooks

RHP, Yohan Ramirez (1-2, 7.36)

Ramirez started the season with the Fayetteville Woodpeckers and promoted to Double-A in June. He had a rough go of it in June where his longest outing was 4 innings.

In the month of June batters hit for a .321 average compared to May when they hit for a .169 average. Right-handed batters hit for a .140 average while batters from the left side of the plate hit for a .262 average.

None of the Frisco batters have faced Ramirez this season.

RHP, Jason Bahr (0-2, 5.40)

Bahr has made 3 starts for the RoughRiders since getting his promotion from Down East. Bahr is the prospect the Rangers essentially bought when they traded with the Giants for Austin Jackson and?Cory Gearrin last year.

Right-handed batters are hitting .215 against him on the year while Left-handed batters don’t stand a chance at .168.

The Hooks have not faced Bahr this year.

Hooks

Enoli Paredes (1-2, 4.18) RHP

# 25 ranked Prospect in the Astros system.

He has pitched a couple of 6 inning shutouts. One was against the Springfield Cardinals and the other was his last start, against the Midland RockHounds. Paredes walked 2 and struck out 12 in those 6 innings against the RockHounds.

Right-handed batters are hitting only .154 while Left-handed batters are only hitting .143 on the year.

I would love to see the RoughRiders get a sweep of this series. #LetsRide
