Anderson Tejeda is one of the Rangers top prospects and he stole the show in his MLB debut against the Athletics. No one would have predicted that he would have made his debut this year and if this was a normal season, he probably wouldn’t have. But yet, here we are Anderson Tejeda’s MLB debut was an absolute home run!

Unfortunately for the Rangers, they were swept out of Oakland and lost by a final of 6-4 and now have a 3-8 record but the rookie impressed.

Unfortunately, the Rangers lost by a final of 6-4 against the 1st place Athletics. That doesn’t take away from Tejeda’s excellent debut. Acoord8ng to Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News, the Rangers aren’t quite sure but he may be the first prospect to come to the majors from High-A.

Anderson Tejeda’s at bats

He batted 8th in the batting order and played 2nd base.

Tejeda’s first at bat came in the top of the 3rd inning and he hit the first pitch he saw for an out to left field.

His 2nd at bat came in the top of the 5th inning. Again on the first pitch, he swung and hit an RBI single, scoring Isiah Kiner-Falefa who was at 3rd from hitting a triple. He then stole 2nd base.

His 3rd at bat came in the top of the 7th inning with the Rangers trailing 5-2. IKF was on-base after hitting a single. Once again, on the first pitch he saw he swung and hit a home run to right field.

His final at bat came in the top of the 8th inning with the bases loaded and 1 out. He swung and missed at the first pitch. The 2nd pitch was a 82 MPH change-up that he hit but it was a pop out to short.

Again, Anderson Tejeda’s MLB Debut was a huge success. Especially for a prospect that hasn’t played above High-A baseball. Last year, he played 43 games with the Down East Wood Ducks slashing a line of .234/.315/.386 with 4 home runs, 24 RBI and 9 stolen bases.

He ended the game going 2-4 with 1 home run, 3 RBI and a stolen base. His batting average sits at .500 and his OPS is currently 1.750. I dont know how long he’ll play this season but you can bet we will see him in the Rangers line-up again tomorrow against the Angels.
