In his Double-A debut, Antoine Kelly impressed Frisco RoughRiders fans with a stellar performance. Kelly was part of the Rangers return from the Brewers in the Matt Bush trade.

The 22-year-old left-handed pitcher allowed just one run in 3.2 innings of work, striking out five batters in the process. He issued only one walk which is impressive because the free passes are definitely something he needs to limit.

Kelly threw a first pitch strike to every batter he faced except two and reached up to 97 mph on his fastball.

Although the RoughRiders lost 3-2, Kelly didn’t factor into the decision.

Aaron Zavala also had a great game for Frisco, hitting his 2nd home run of the season in the bottom of the 1st.

Unfortunately, that was all the RoughRiders were able to bring across the plate. The RoughRiders line-up as a whole only managed three hits including Zavala’s big-fly.

4,501 fans flocked to Riders Field to see the Rangers newest acquisition and although they may have been disappointed by the final score, they weren’t in his outing.
