The Frisco RoughRiders used four pitchers to combine for a two-hit shutout victory last night. It was their 9th shutout win of the season.

Frisco starter Tim Brennan (W, 5-3) pitched 6 scoreless innings, allowing only 1 hit and striking out 3 on 58 total pitches: 41 strikes to 17 balls.

In August in two starts Tim has a 2-0 win-loss record. He’s allowed one run in 12 innings pitched 7 hits, ZERO walks and 5 strikeouts. This also makes two quality starts in a row for Tim Brennan.

Brennan got all the offense he needed thanks to an RBI-single from Justin Foscue to bring in Jonathan Ornelas in the bottom of the 3rd.

With Brennan rolling, bottom of the 5th Kellen Strahm hit his 13th double bringing in Blaine Crim and Justin Foscue to push the score 3-0.

Speaking of Foscue, there is no one who is hotter at the plate than he has been. He went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a walk.

In August Justin Foscue has hitting .333 AVG, 4 HR and 9 RBI.

After 6 innings with a 3-0 lead RoughRiders went to their bullpen starting with newcomer Matt Wivinis (H,1) making his AA debut after 14 appearances with Rangers Rookie league. Matt retired the Missions hitters in order on 10 pitches.

Grant Wolfram (H,5) went 1 inning, 1 walk, 1 strikeout and to complete the shutout is Grant Anderson (S,3) went 1 inning 1 hit and 1 strikeout.
