Pure Degrominance
Jacob Degrom took the mound Saturday night in what is likely to be his final rehab start on his journey rehabbing his arm from Tommy John in June of last year.
Degrom was in full force Saturday night as he had his longest outing so far on the year going 4 innings. He notched 5K’s on the night, 3 Swinging and 2 Looking. The only “hit” he allowed on the night was on a ball that was taken by the wind and misread by Mateo allowing Fedko to get a faulty double. His Fastball still lively touching 99 along with his lower to mid 90’s Slider. The 2 Time Cy Young is ready to join the Rangers and you can tell by the way the Baseball is exploding off his hand he’s feeling right more poised than ever.
The Bullpen
After Degrom’s 4-innings, the first pitcher called upon was Jacob Latz. Latz threw 2 innings of scoreless relief in which he didn’t allow a hit, walked 2, and struck out 4. Magdaleno and Clark were up next as they both came on for an inning of work, both getting a hold in the process.
Finally, Ryan Lobus came on for the save in the 9th. Lobus would get into trouble letting 2 of the first 3 get aboard, but settled in and got the next 2 on strikeouts to end the game and get the save!
Alejandro Osuna
Osuna would be all the offense that was needed Saturday night as he hit a missile to right field on the first AB of the game as he continues his great year in Frisco!
It was an absolute Pitcher’s Duel on Saturday night that Frisco got the better end of. They have one more home game, and then the next time they’ll be at home in Frisco will be in the Playoffs!
