Frisco 5, Northwest Arkansas 0

The Frisco RoughRiders delivered a 5-0 shutout win over the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, but were eliminated from postseason contention in the second half due to an Amarillo win. The win was highlighted by a fantastic performance from starting pitcher Leandro Lopez.

Leandro Lopez (RHP): Lopez (1-0) threw a career-best 7.0 shutout innings, allowing just three hits while walking two and striking out six.

The Riders' offense got started in the fourth inning against Northwest Arkansas starter Frank Mozzicato (2-5). Jax Biggers drew a bases-loaded walk to give Frisco a 1-0 lead.

They added three more runs in the fifth. Keyber Rodriguez hit an infield RBI single, followed by a shallow left field RBI single from Biggers. Rodriguez finished the night 3-for-3. Keith Jones II capped the inning with a sacrifice fly, pushing the lead to 4-0. Sebastian Walcott plated Frisco's fifth run in the sixth with an infield RBI single to short, increasing the lead to 5-0.

Larson Kindreich and Emiliano Teodo each threw a scoreless inning in relief to close out the game.

Additional Notes Sebastian Walcott is on an eight-game hitting streak, batting .387 (12-for-31)/.500/.548/1.048 with a triple, home run, eight RBIs, and three steals.

Frainyer Chavez is on a nine-game hitting streak, hitting .405/.477/.568/1.045.

The RoughRiders will face the Naturals in the third game of the final six-game series of the year tonight, September 11th, at 7:05 p.m.

RHP David Davalillo (2-3, 2.49) will start for Frisco against LHP Ryan Ramsey (6-10, 5.69).

Round Rock Express Split Doubleheader with Sugar Land

GAME 1: Round Rock 5, Sugar Land 3 The Round Rock Express took the first game of a doubleheader against the Sugar Land Space Cowboys.

In the bottom of the third, the Express broke a scoreless tie. After walks to Alex De Goti and Billy McKinney, Justin Foscue hit a three-run home run to give Round Rock a 3-0 lead.

Sugar Land responded in the fourth with a two-run homer from Edwin Díaz, following a leadoff double by Jon Singleton, cutting the deficit to 3-2.

Round Rock extended their lead in the sixth. Three consecutive walks loaded the bases, and Aaron Zavala drove in his first two runs at the Triple-A level with a single into right-center, scoring Alan Trejo and Richie Martin to make it 5-2.

Sugar Land's Kenedy Corona hit a solo home run in the top of the seventh, but reliever Dane Acker struck out the next three batters to secure the 5-3 win.

GAME 2: Sugar Land 7, Round Rock 4 The Space Cowboys bounced back in the second game, taking a 7-4 victory.

Sugar Land jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning with a grand slam from Brice Matthews. They extended their lead to 6-0 in the third on an RBI double from Jacob Melton and an RBI single by Jon Singleton.

In the bottom of the fourth, Abimelec Ortiz put the Express on the board with a solo home run. Ortiz later hit a two-run double in the sixth, bringing two runners home and cutting the deficit to 6-3.

Sugar Land added another run in the seventh on an RBI single from Matthews. Round Rock's Aaron Zavala recorded his first Triple-A home run, an inside-the-parker to center field, which capped the scoring.

Additional notes

Aaron Zavala had a notable doubleheader, recording his first Triple-A RBI and home run. He went 1-for-3 with two RBIs in game one and 1-for-3 with an inside-the-park home run in game two.

Dane Acker earned his fourth win of the season, throwing 3.0 innings out of the bullpen in game one. He allowed two hits and one run, without a walk, while striking out six. Since August 12, Acker has given up just two runs in his last nine outings, for a 1.26 ERA (2 ER/14.1 IP).

The Express will play the next game of their series against Sugar Land tonight, September 11, at 7:05 p.m. at Dell Diamond.

Hub City Spartanburgers

Hub City Spartanburgers vs. Bowling Green Hot Rods

The Hub play game two of the SAL Division Series tonight. RHP Caden Scarborough is scheduled to start for the Hub City Spartanburgers in game two of the SAL Division Series tonight.

First pitch is set for 6:35 PM CT from Bowling Green Ballpark.

The Rangers also announced their prospects that will be participating in the AFL.
