Julio Pablo Martinez signed with the Rangers last year after they lost out on the Shohei Ohtani?sweepstakes.

Martinez got himself a promotion and I couldn’t be more excited. He is now showing on the roster for the Down East Wood Ducks. Martinez did an interview post with me and you can check it out here.

Last year (2018)

Last year Martinez started off in the Dominican Summer League where he only played in 7 games. His average was .409 in 22 at bats. He hit 1 home run and had 3 RBI with an on-base percentage of .606!

Julio Pablo Martinez then promoted and spent the season with the Spokane Indians in short season. He played in 60 games and hit .252 with an on-base percentage of .351.

After the season, he was assigned to the Arizona Fall League where he hit for an average of .327 and OBP of .397. He hit 1 home run and drove in 6 runs and hit for the cycle as well.

2019

This year he started in low-A with the Hickory Crawdads. In 10 games, 44 plate appearances and 40 at bats, he has hit .250 with a home run and 5 RBI. He’s got some speed as well with 4 stolen bases.

We will see how it goes for him and you can bet we will keep you all caught up.
