Low-A Hickory Crawdads won their third game in a row with great pitching and timely hitting in a 4-1 victory last night over West Virginia Power! #2 Prospect, Cole Winn (1-3) went 5 innings, 2 hits, 2 Walks, 5 Strikeouts, 73 pitches 45 strikes.
Cole was replaced in the Bottom of the 6th inning by Jesus Linarez who’s been on a roll for the Crawdads! Jesus went 3 strong innings of 2 hit ball with 35 pitches 23 strikes!
Jesus was replaced in Top of the 9th with Hickory closer Kelvin Gonzalez who didn?t have his best stuff. He went 1 inning, allowing 1 earned run on 2 hits and 1 strikeout.
On the offense side Hickory was lead by Tyreque Reed who went 3-3 with a run scored with a walk! C Melvin Novoa 2-4 with 3 RBI?s (22) and his 4th Home Run! SS Frainyer Chavez 2-4 RBI (20) hit his first Homer of the year.
The Crawdads got on the board 1st with a Melvin Novoa single scoring Jax Biggers making the score 1-0 GOOD GUYS. We move to the 3rd Melvin Novoa Homers(4) scores Tyreque Reed making the score 3-0 Hickory! Top of the 4TH Frainyer Chavez hits his 1St Homer of the year making the score 4-0 GOOD GUYS!! Then West Virginia got on the board with a HR making the score final 4-1 CRAWDADS

High-A Down East Wood Ducks got fantastic pitching tonight from a combined 3 pitchers in a 6 hit shoutout to the Winston-Salem Dash.
The Wood Ducks starter, Alex Eubanks improved to (7-2) in his last 10 games. Alex went 5 innings, allowing 3 hits, 2 walks, 4 strikeouts and threw 66 pitches with 46 strikes! Alex was replaced by RHP Jairo Beras who got his 2nd Hold of the season with 2 1/3 Innings, 1Hit, 1 Walk, 2 Strikeouts! Wood Ducks Manger Corey Ragsdale pulls Jario replaces him with Closer Joe Kuzia who had the night off last night went 1 2/3 Innings of 2 Hits 1 Strikeout Ball 22 Pitches 17 strikes and pick up his 9th Save of the season with the Wood Ducks! RHP Joe Kuzia last 10 2-0 0.53 Era 17 Innings 10 hits 1 Earn Run 6 Walks 13 Strikeouts and a WHIP of 0.94.

AAA Nashville Sounds held on to a 4-3 win thanks to great pitching. The #7 Prospect Joe Palumbo went 5 innings in his 3rd start in Nashville. He allowed 2 hits, 0 Earn runs, 3 Walks, 10 strikeouts and got great work from his teammates.
The score remained scoreless till the bottom of the 4th when Carlos Tocci connected with his 4th homer of the year that scored Juremi Profar making the score 2-0. That was followed by a Isiah Kiner-Falefa 2 run double scoring Adam Moore making the score 4-0.
But in the 9th David Carpenter replaced Jake Petricka gets the 1st hitter to pop up to 3rd Base Patrick Wisdom then he gets the next hitter to Ground out softly to Carpenter! Then with 2 outs thing starting gettin interesting when Carpenter walked D.J Peters. With Peters on Shane Peterson hit a double scoring Peters making the score 4-3 Sounds.
Then on a 2-2 count with Drew Jackson with the tying run on 2nd gets a CALLED STRIKE 3 and BALL GAME THE GOOD GUYS WIN!!!!
