Kohl Drake Promoted to Triple-A Round Rock

Left-hander Kohl Drake, a Wylie High School alum and a rising pitching prospect in the Texas Rangers’ farm system, has earned a promotion to Triple-A Round Rock, as first reported by Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News.

The soon to be 25-year-old, selected in the 11th round of the 2022 draft, leaves Double-A Frisco after 17 starts combined last season and this season.

Drake’s performance with the Frisco RoughRiders over the past two seasons has been nothing short of electric. Ranked as the Rangers’ No. 11 prospect by MLB Pipeline—and No. 7 by The Prospect Times’ latest update.

Drake’s numbers at Double-A:

  • 2025 Season at Frisco: 4-3 record, 2.44 ERA, 55⅓ IP, 22 BB, 70 SO
  • Two Seasons at Frisco: 2.62 ERA, 75.2 IP, 90 SO, 10.7 SO/9, 1.004 WHIP over 17 appearances
