At 5PM Tuesday night Jeff Passan reported that the Rangers were in agreement with Chris Martin on a one year contract. Martin posted a 2.98 ERA over 49 appearances in 2025. At 8:22 Friday night Robert Murray of Fansided reported that the Rangers signed free-agent catcher Danny Jansen to a two-year, 14.5 million dollar contract that includes bonuses to get it to 15.5 million. The Rangers did not pick anyone in the Major League phase of the Rule 5 draft, but they did manage to come away with a Rule 5 pick, nonetheless.
