Mike Maddux set to leave Rangers staff and head out west.
Mike Maddux has declined to return as the Texas Rangers' pitching coach for the 2026 season, ending his second stint with the team. Maddux is set to join the Los Angeles Angels, marking his departure from the Rangers. Maddux rejoined the Rangers in 2023 as part of manager Bruce Bochy’s staff. During his first year, the team posted a 4.28 ERA. That number slightly increased to 4.35 in 2024, but in 2025, the team’s pitching improved significantly, finishing with a league-best 3.47 team ERA. Pitchers the Rangers could Target this Winter
Chris Young and the front office will have to explore the pitching market this winter. The Rangers will need to fill one or two rotation spots (I lean two because CY likes pitching) and four to five bullpen arms. The Rangers currently have Robert Garcia, Jacob Webb, Cole Winn, and Jacob Latz depending on if he is in the rotation or not. Tyler Mahle and Merrill Kelly are also free agents along with Jon Gray (who I think will retire unfortunately due to Thoracic Outlet Syndrome). I will not includ
Longest RoughRiders HR's of 2025
The Frisco RoughRiders' collective power production dipped for the second consecutive year, with the team hitting 109 home runs in the 2025 season (down from 117 homers in 2024 and 118 in 2023). Despite the overall decrease, individual players delivered several remarkable displays of raw strength. A look back at the longest home runs hit at Riders Field this season: 5. Wyatt Langford / 425 feet / 107 mph / July 3 Langford hit this homer during a single-game rehab stint on July 3. This was his
Rangers Shut Down Top Prospect Sebastian Walcott Due to Arm Fatigue
The Texas Rangers have shut down top prospect Sebastian Walcott due to arm fatigue. Walcott was assigned to the Surprise Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League, but played in only one game before being sidelined. Reports indicate the plan is for him to rest, with the team set to reevaluate his condition in the coming days. The Rangers saw no point in Walcott serving solely as a designated hitter given his workload at the plate in Double-A. Walcott spent the entire season in Double-A Frisco
Ex-Rangers Prospect Skole Wins Banana Ball Triple Crown with Party Animals
Jake Skole, a former Texas Rangers prospect, is excelling at trick plays and power hitting in Banana Ball. This season, Skole became the first player to hit for a cycle and has since become the first player to win the Triple Crown in Banana Ball as a member of the Party Animals. Skole's final statistics included a .371 batting average, 15 home runs and 73 RBIs. All told, he batted .371/.449/.657/1.106 (batting average/on-base percentage/slugging percentage/on-base plus slugging) at the plate.
