Rangers Affiliates Recap 7/24

Hickory Crawdads
The Hickory Crawdads suffered a 7-5 loss against the Augusta GreenJackets. Yeremy Cabrera led the way for them with two hits and two RBIs. Esteban Mejia backed him up with a RBI double and a walk that forced in another run.
Brooks Fowler was great in his start as he allowed one run in 5.1 innings on seven hits with just one walk while striking out one. This outing brought his ERA down to 2.86.
When the bullpen entered the game went downhill. William Privette allowed four runs on three hits in one inning while walking two and striking out none. Jesus Gamez would get back on track as he fired a scoreless 1.2 innings allowing two hits with one walk and one strikeout.
Kai Wynyard took the loss as he allowed three runs (one earned) on three hits in 0.2 innings.
Hub City Spartanburgers
The Spartanburgers won 3-0 behind the great pitching of Dyan MacLean who allowed only one hit in four scoreless innings. The bullpen had his back as they threw a shutout too.
Victor Simeon got the win with two innings of one hit ball with two walks and a strikeout. Joey Danielson got the hold with two innings of clean work with one hit and one walk while striking out two.
Eric Loomis locked down the save with one scoreless inning of one hit ball and a strikeout.
Rafe Perich, John Taylor, and Malcolm Moore led the team in hits as all of them had two hits. Perich hit his first home run of the year in the sixth inning. John Taylor also had a RBI as he got the Spartanburgers on the board in the second inning with a single.
Frisco Roughriders
The Roughriders lost a close one 5-6 to the Wichita Wind Surge. The bullpen couldn't hold the lead as they allowed three runs in the eighth and then three in the ninth inning.
Jason Kelley allowed three runs (two earned) in 1.2 innings on one hit with two walks and two strikeouts. Travis MacGregor got the loss with .2 innings pitched with three runs allowed. He gave up three hits and one walk while striking out none.
Joc Pederson, Cam Cauley, and Abimelec Ortiz all led the team with two hits each. Pederson was great in his first rehab start with two single and a walk. It is good to see him do this and hopefully this can get him back on track.
Cauley had three RBIs and hit his ninth home run of the year.
Round Rock Express
The Express suffered a tough 6-1 loss. The only run that they could manage came from Billy McKinney who homered in the first inning. That was all that the Express could score.
Starter Michael Plassmeyer took the loss. He allowed four runs in five innings while allowing eight hits with two walks and a pair of strikeouts. Peyton Gray would allow one hit on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts in two innings.
Joe Barlow would be the last guy of the bullpen and he allowed one run in one inning. This came on two hits with no walks and a strikeout.
