Arturo Disla has become an intriguing prospect to watch in the Texas Rangers organization. Standing out with his size and power-hitting abilities, Disla is listed at 6’2″ and 240 lbs.

The Rangers signed Disla as a free agent on July 24, 2023, from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas, located about an hour south of Amarillo.

During his 2023 season at Wayland Baptist University, Disla delivered an incredible performance, slashing .428/.490/.777/1.267 with 12 home runs and 62 RBIs. He also showed a little speed with 10 stolen bases.

In total, he played 100 college games over two seasons, hitting 29 home runs and driving in 113 runs.

Upon signing with the Rangers, Disla was sent to the Dominican Summer League, where he played for the Rangers Red team. In 19 games, he hit .274/.416/.468/.883 with 3 home runs and 12 RBIs.

As of October 8th, Disla will be 24 years old.

Arturo Disla has been promoted to Hickory

The news today is Arturo Disla has been promoted to High-A Hickory Crawdads, as confirmed by a post on Instagram, X and Disla himself confirmed it to me.

During his time with the Down East Wood Ducks, Disla slashed .281/.359/.438/.797 with 11 home runs and 50 RBIs. He also worked 32 walks and struck out 65 times.

It will be interesting to see how Disla handles the next level. I expect the power to remain after an adjustment preiod, but will the strikeouts increase? Stay tuned as we continue to follow his progress.

Congratulations to Arturo Disla on his well-deserved promotion to High-A Hickory!
