Ezequiel Durán has monster week and returns to the Rangers
Ezequiel Durán has made his way back to the Rangers after an incredible week.
Durán earned Pacific Coast League Player of the Week after slashing .480 with 5 home runs and 10 rbis in his last 6 games.
Durán being called up was one of many moves that occurred Monday afternoon along with Cody Bradford, Josh Jung, and Gerson Garabito being called up to the big league team.
Jon Gray was placed on the 15 day injured list, Evan Carter was transferred to the 60 day injured list. Justin Foscue, Jonathan Ornelas, and Andrew Knizner were all sent down to the Round Rock Express. Davis Wendzel was also designated for assignment.
Durán will look to help spark the Rangers’ offense as they have been sluggish compared to last year. They are ranked 17th offensively this year compared to 3rd last year according to MLB.com.
He played a huge part in helping the Rangers’ offense last year as he took over when Corey Seager went down and hit over .300. He ended the year hitting .276 with 14 home runs and 46 rbis.
He has taken a step back like the whole Rangers’ offense as he has hit .256 with only 2 home runs and 14 rbis.
The Rangers are hoping that this week is a sign that he is back to his 2023 self and can give them production that they have been lacking out of the DH role.
